The first ever Dataism performance was in IDEM21. It was a playful yet serious contrast between the rational world of data and the paradox and poetic outcomes of artistic (ab)use of highly complex every day tools.

The installation transformed a random word (“imprisonment”) in an acoustic cluster as a live performance, with sound of a 3d Printer, a Phone call, Morse code, Numerology, Mandarin pictograms, and numbers that were transformed as sheet music. This was played on a smart phone piano app, read sheet music, cmyk adaption, a color animation and more.

After the audience adding their own live sounds via smart phones, arose a multilayered “sound cloud”.
