About
In Short, Some About This IDEM
IDEM (International Design Education Meeting) originated in 1985 as a meeting of educators and students from three neighboring academic programs of design in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands.
In the 30 years since then, some 20 meetings took place, with increasing numbers of participating institutes in the field of Design Education.
To date we have had participants from Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Slovenia, Austria, Estonia, Poland, Brazil, Singapore, United States, and Israel.
The next workshop meeting IDEM21 will take place later this year, from 14 to 21 October, 2016. The venue is Hadassah-Neurim school & youth village in Israel, a lovely and secure location on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
The IDEM workshops are week long affairs of creative exchange among students, teachers and graduates from any and all fields of design, a really exciting happening which leaves a long lasting impression on the participants and establishes unlimited friendships.
Typically, he host country selects and introduces a topic with some local meaning during two days of tours and lecture activities. Then come three days of creative work in mixed teams, not two members from the same school per team, so it is truly an international exchange.
On the last day we present the results in a happy carnival atmosphere.
